Dr. Sukhdev Singh
Biography
Dr. Sukhdev Singh is the Co-Founder and Director (Research & Strategy) of BanavatNest Private Limited and an Assistant Professor at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala. Raised in a small village in Punjab, his journey has been shaped by perseverance, strong family values, and a deep commitment to education, research, and meaningful social impact.
He earned his B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Mathematics from Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar. After qualifying for the Junior Research Fellowship of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) in 2010, he pursued his doctoral studies at the Indian Institute of Technology Patna under the supervision of Dr. Yogesh Mani Tripathi. He subsequently received the CSIR Senior Research Fellowship and completed his Ph.D. in 2016.
Dr. Singh’s research interests include statistical estimation and prediction, life testing, reliability analysis, reliability sampling plans, record values, and predictive modelling. His research has been published in reputed international journals, including IEEE Transactions on Reliability, Statistical Papers, and the Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation. He also contributes to the academic community as a reviewer for several leading journals in statistics, reliability, and quality management.
Before joining academia, Dr. Singh worked as a Research Mentor with CL Educate Ltd.–Accendere Knowledge Management Services, where he supported institutional research initiatives and mentored young researchers. He subsequently served as an Assistant Professor at Chandigarh University and Amity University Punjab before joining Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology.
At BanavatNest, Dr. Singh leads research strategy, academic and industry collaborations, innovation programmes, and interdisciplinary project development. He plays a key role in transforming research ideas into practical, purpose-driven solutions using artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, intelligent sensing, and statistical methodologies. Through BanavatNest, he aims to connect academia, industry, and society while nurturing young researchers, students, and professionals to develop innovations with measurable real-world impact.

Dr. Singh is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, Punjab, India. Before joining Thapar, he served as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Statistics at Amity University Punjab, India, and also as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Chandigarh University, Punjab, India. Dr. Singh has also worked as a Research Mentor with CL Educate Ltd- Accendere Knowledge Management Services.
Dr. Singh is currently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, Punjab, India.
