Dr. Reza Arabi Belaghi

Biography
Dr. Reza Arabi Belaghi currently serves as Associate Professor of Statistics and Data Science at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), Sweden, and as Adjunct Professor in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Ottawa, Canada. He is also affiliated as Senior Statistician (Biostatistics) with the Clinical Research Unit at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO Research Institute), Canada, and serves as a Biostatistician with the Canadian Children IBD Network (CIDsCaNN).
Over the course of his academic career, Dr. Belaghi has held faculty and research positions across Sweden, Canada, and Iran. Prior to joining SLU, he served as Associate Professor of Statistics and Data Science at Uppsala University, Sweden, and previously held Assistant Professor and Associate Professor positions at the University of Tabriz, Iran. Earlier in his career, he also served as a Sessional Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at McMaster University, Canada.
He earned his Ph.D. in Statistics from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad, Iran, with a significant portion of his doctoral research conducted at McMaster University, Canada, under the mentorship of Prof. N. Balakrishnan. He later completed postdoctoral research at McMaster University and the University of Windsor. Dr. Belaghi has authored 60+ peer-reviewed publications and has led and contributed to competitive research projects with cumulative funding exceeding CAD 3.4 million.
